I cannot overstate the importance of knowing your supplier beyond price, delivery and quality quoted on a phone call. You need to know about what goes on, if you will, behind the scenes. Best way is plant visitations; second best is your own Supplier Satisfaction Questionnaire. Copy the five pages of the questionnaire, change it or modify it to your liking, but survey your fastener suppliers for building a better fastener purchasing department.
